Outranking our own parent brand —
and the OTAs.

InterContinental Phuket was a newly-opened 5-star resort being buried in search by its own parent brand (ihg.com) and the major OTAs. We built an AI-accelerated content pipeline that mapped every commercial Phuket query, drafted each page in the resort's brand voice, and pushed the property into the top 5 — above Tripadvisor, Booking and IHG itself.

A new flagship on Phuket's west coast.

InterContinental Phuket Resort is IHG's flagship 5-star property on Kamala Bay — beachfront suites and private-pool villas overlooking the Andaman Sea. As a new-build in a market where Tripadvisor, Booking and the parent brand itself dominated every destination search, they needed digital authority fast.

The challenge

A luxury resort buried by its own corporate parent.

Every “InterContinental Phuket” search routed through ihg.com's generic corporate page. Every “Phuket luxury resort” search was owned by Booking, Tripadvisor and a handful of travel authorities. And the property's in-house content team could realistically ship five pages a month — not the hundreds needed to cover a destination this competitive.

Drowned by the parent brand

IHG's own corporate listings were outranking the property's site for its own name — starving the resort of direct bookings and ceding the first-impression to a template page.

OTAs owning destination intent

Booking, Agoda and Tripadvisor held page 1 for every generic Phuket query, pushing commission deeper into every reservation that came through those channels.

Manual content can't cover the map

Hundreds of commercial-intent Phuket queries — beaches, itineraries, comparisons — and an in-house team that could ship five polished pages a month.
